It Gets Worse
I've always had an aversion to making dates, committing to trivial things, hate doctors appoinments, etc. I excused myself by claiming FREE TIME allows me to get a lot of work done. I exhonorated myself by witnessing other would-be artists, writers with full-social schedules bemoaning their lack of production.
Now, after decades of producing art that no one has ever required, finding it less and less compelling to keep producing, it just gets harder to do ordinary things.

I first bought it in 1976, read a bit then put it aside. I just picked it up again and am enjoying the pure play of prose once again. He doesn't tell stories but tells us what his peers have previously told us that we might have missed. I seldom read deep enough.

Since I switched my server last year, the traffic on this WebLog has dropped from a few hundred a day to 10-12. The low figure seems accurate based on low participation. Thus I have succumed and am now sort of mirroring TMWebLog to FACEBOOK. The Juggernaught.
We'll see how it goes. FB has a few possibilities for some art but the trivialities and self-absorbsion, over-sharing, the games and apps. Chances to use it as a way to transmit useful information.

My Friend Grupp
Carl has been a friend from Day 1 in Art School. Brother from another mother since then. Almost 50 years. As we studied and grew, moving apart and closer as we both grow old and decrepit along similar lines. Carl has an active social life, hundreds of friends and many close at hand. I am mostly hermitic, a close group of old friends and family. Mostly via the internet.
One of the first great pieces Carl did was a b&w lithograph called Reversibility #1 (an illustration of Beaudilaire's Angels Of Gaiety ). Carl gave me print #3 of 5. It has traveled with me for all these years. Tonight, I matched a frame to the size and framed it. Awesome image. Photo to come.

On Being Gay & Free & Equal
I do not be the first but have always felt I was the second and third. White male, unobtrusive in the mainstream.
So I read all the stuff about being gay and equal and married etc and I'm thinking: What if all this equality allows more and more of the GLBT to come out of the closet?
Common wisdom is that 10-14% of persons can be identified as GLBT. Plus, I've always believed a majority of women are actually Ls.
Guys are even wierder. You've got the recently hyped BroMances. Metro-sexuals. You got your Down-low guys which is just straight up Denial. They are definitely Bs.
Thus I'm guessing the actual percentage is about 28-30%. Maybe more. To End this post: That's more than the current Republican Party has going for them.

I've only read a bit (and viewed) a bit of Dickens over the years but I saw PBS's version of Little Dorrit with Tom Courtney last night. I also recall a multi-part PBS version of Bleak House with, as I recall, the odious Christian Bale. Correct me if I'm wrong but that too captivating. Dickins was the best draughtsman of characters ever; Elmore Leonard excepted.
